題目:Analysis and Design of Uncertain Complex Systems: A Randomization Viewpoint

Abstract: recent years, we have seen a growing interest in probabilistic and randomized methods for the analysis and design of uncertain complex systems. In this lecture, we provide a perspective of this research area and discuss several randomized algorithms. In particular, for convex design problems, we present sequential algorithms for feasibility and optimization based on gradient and localization techniques. Finally, we demonstrate the efficacy of this approach in dealing with specific applications, such as the design of autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for archaeological sites monitoring, fire detection and prevention, and natural disaster recognition.

主講人簡介:

Roberto Tempo was born in Cuorgne', Italy, in 1956. In 1980 he graduated in Electrical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. Dr. Tempo's research activities are mainly focused on the analysis and design of complex systems with uncertainty, and various related applications within information technology. Dr. Tempo is currently an Editor and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Automatica, a Senior Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, and an Editor at Large of the Asian Journal of Control. He has been Editor for Technical Notes and Correspondence of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control in 2005-2009. In 2010 he has served the IEEE Control Systems Society as President and, during the period 2002-2003, as Vice-President for Conference Activities.
